
Muscat, April 13, 2025 — Her Excellency Ibtisam bint Ahmed Al-Farooji, Undersecretary for Investment Promotion at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, led the Sultanate of Oman’s delegation at the third meeting of the GCC Investment Authorities Undersecretaries Committee, held in Kuwait City. The meeting, hosted by the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority, brought together representatives from all GCC member states and the General Secretariat.
The gathering aimed to bolster economic integration among Gulf countries, aligning with directives from GCC leadership to enhance cooperation in direct investment. Discussions centered on harmonizing investment policies, enhancing transparency, and fostering a competitive environment to attract sustainable foreign investments.
Chairman of the Committee, Sheikh Abdullah Sabah Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah, emphasized the need for innovative measures to address rapid global economic changes, including the development of regulatory frameworks to improve regional and global competitiveness.
Assistant Secretary-General for Economic and Development Affairs at the GCC General Secretariat, H.E. Khalid Al-Sunaidi, expressed gratitude to Kuwait for hosting the meeting and underscored the importance of coordinated efforts to maximize the region’s investment potential and achieve economic diversification.
Oman’s participation reflects its dedication to fostering a unified Gulf investment strategy, aiming to create a more attractive and efficient investment landscape across the GCC.
